PD Thomas Ellrott, MD

Born 1966, doctor and nutrition psychologist. He is one of Germany's most renowned nutrition experts. He studied human medicine and received his doctorate in this subject from the University of Göttingen in 1995. In 2007 he habilitated in nutritional psychology and in the same year took over as head of the Institute for Nutritional Psychology at Göttingen University as successor to Prof. Dr. Volker Pudel.
His research focuses on the prevention and therapy of obesity and research into eating and consumer behaviour in Germany. He is head of the DGE section Lower Saxony. Scientific Director of Culinary Medicine Deutschland e.V.
Sustainability educator Uwe Neumann

Born in 1960, sustainability educator and educational consultant for sustainable development (ESD). He studied medicine and computer science in Bonn and health sciences in Osnabrück. He conceived the CookUOS project in 2010 and was co-founder of Culinary Medicine Deutschland e.V. in 2015. (formerly CookUOS e.V.).
The project was awarded UN Decade Project status by the German UNESCO Commission in 2012/2013 and 2014. The project he leads received further awards from the Donors' Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany, the Federal Ministries BMBF, BMG, BMEL as well as FairTrade®.
2018 he received the Volker Pudel Prize of the Heinz Lohmann Foundation.
